Image Info Viewer
View DPI, color space, file size, dimensions, and ICC profile.
Image Info Viewer reports the technical identity of a file: "View DPI, color space, file size, dimensions, EXIF, ICC profile, and more." After the "Extracting metadata..." pass, you get collapsible sections for File Information, Color Information, Resolution, ICC Profile, EXIF, GPS Location, and Raw EXIF — with a dimensions line like "{w}×{h} • {size}" over the preview.
When GPS tags exist you also get Latitude, Longitude, Altitude, and a copyable Google Maps URL row. Full results export as JSON — "Download JSON" writes {basename}-metadata.json and "Copy All JSON" puts the object on the clipboard (toast: "All metadata copied to clipboard!"). Parsing runs entirely in the browser with ExifReader.
How it works
The page calls ExifReader.load(file) for tags and reads pixel dimensions through an Image element, then assembles an ImageInfo object: aspect ratio via GCD, color space / bit depth / channels, dpi/ppi when present, the ICC profile block, structured EXIF (including GPS), and a rawExif dump.
JSON export and copy serialize that whole object. Sections render only when their data exists — DPI/PPI need embedded resolution tags, and GPS Location appears only when GPS tags are present. "Remove" clears the file for the next inspection. No upload happens; failure surfaces "Failed to load image info" or the "Failed to extract image info" toast.
How to use
- Drop an image into the upload zone.
- Wait for "Extracting metadata..." to finish.
- Review "File Information" (File Name, File Size, MIME Type, Dimensions, Aspect Ratio), "Color Information", and "Resolution".
- Expand ICC Profile, EXIF, GPS Location, and Raw EXIF as needed.
- If GPS is present, copy the Google Maps URL row.
- Click "Download JSON" or "Copy All JSON" for the full report.
- Click "Remove" to clear the preview and inspect another file.
Tips
- DPI and PPI only appear when the file embeds resolution tags — many web images lack them entirely.
- GPS Location renders only when GPS tags exist and includes a ready-made maps URL.
- Download JSON is ideal for audits; the file is named {basename}-metadata.json.
- This tool emphasizes DPI/ICC/JSON export via exifreader; for IPTC/XMP groups and a histogram, use image-metadata instead.
- Works offline after the page loads — tag parsing is pure JavaScript.
Image Info Viewer FAQ
What library reads EXIF?
ExifReader — the page calls ExifReader.load(file) on your image.
Does it show IPTC and XMP?
Primary sections are File/Color/Resolution/ICC/EXIF/GPS/Raw EXIF; for grouped IPTC/XMP view image-metadata.
Can I export the data?
Yes — "Download JSON" saves the full info object and "Copy All JSON" copies it to the clipboard.
Is GPS included when present?
Yes — Latitude, Longitude, Altitude, plus a Google Maps URL row you can copy.
Is the image uploaded?
No — parsing runs in the browser; nothing is sent to a server.
