PDF Tools
Free PDF tools that never upload your files
Every PDF tool here processes your document on your own device. Nothing is uploaded, nothing is queued on someone else's server, and there is no account to create.

PDF work usually means handing your document to a website and hoping. Those sites hold your file while a queue drains, may keep it after the job is done, and make you wait for a free-tier upload limit. The tools below take a different route: the parsing, the reordering, the re-encoding all happen in your browser, so the document never leaves your machine.
That matters most for the files you would rather not upload — a signed contract, a payslip, a medical form, anything with personal details. It also makes the tools work offline once the page has loaded, which is handy on a plane or behind a locked-down network.
If a document is password-protected, the lock and unlock tools handle the encryption step locally too, so you are not uploading a file to have somebody else's server guess at it.

PDF Tools FAQ
Are my PDF files uploaded anywhere?
No. PDF parsing and writing happen in your browser using pdf-lib and pdf.js, so the document stays on your device. There is no upload step and no server-side copy to delete afterwards.
Is there a file size limit?
There is no server limit, because there is no server. The practical ceiling is your device's available memory — large scanned documents with hundreds of pages are the first thing to hit it. Merging and splitting a few hundred pages is usually fine.
Can I merge or split a PDF without losing quality?
Yes. Merging and splitting copy the existing page content rather than re-rendering it, so there is no quality loss and no file-size growth. Only the operations that genuinely re-encode content, such as compression, change the bytes.
Can I edit text inside a PDF?
Not directly. PDF is a fixed-layout format, so the tools here cover structural work — merging, splitting, rotating, cropping, watermarking, page numbers, metadata and reordering. To change the words, convert to an editable format first or edit in a word processor.
Will a PDF I unlock here open everywhere?
Unlocking removes the password so the document opens without a prompt. Make sure you are allowed to open it — the tool removes a restriction, it does not grant permission.
