Image to PDF

Combine multiple images into a single PDF document.

Image to PDF combines one or more images into a single PDF — one image per page — with reorderable rows, page size choices (Fit to image, A4, Letter), and a margin slider (0–120pt). PNG and JPEG embed natively; WebP, GIF, and BMP convert through canvas to PNG first. The whole pipeline runs in your browser with pdf-lib and never uploads your photos.

Use it to package scans, build a simple photo book PDF, or turn a set of screenshots into one shareable document. Adding or removing images clears any previous result so you cannot download a stale build by mistake.

How it works

Files enter through a multi dropzone (accept image/*) and land in a list with thumbnails, numbered badges, drag handles, and move up/down controls. Format sniffing uses magic bytes: true PNG/JPEG embed with embedPng/embedJpg; other formats rasterize via createImageBitmap/canvas to PNG. CMYK or progressive JPEGs that pdf-lib rejects are re-encoded the same way.

Page size fit mode derives dimensions from image size plus margin (capped at 1200pt); A4 and Letter use fixed PDF points. Each image is drawn “contain” (aspect preserved, centered). Output is a Blob → object URL for the Download PDF button (default name images.pdf).

How to use

  1. Open Image to PDF and drop or click images (PNG, JPEG, WebP, GIF, BMP).
  2. Ignore non-image warnings if any files were filtered out.
  3. Review Selected Images (N): drag by the grip or use chevrons to set page order; Trash removes a row; Clear All resets.
  4. Choose Page Size: Fit to image (default), A4, or Letter.
  5. Set Margin (pt) with the slider (0–120, default 24).
  6. Click Create PDF and wait for Creating PDF….
  7. On PDF created!, set the output filename if needed (default images).
  8. Download PDF; Start Over to build another document.

Tips

  • Reorder before converting — list order becomes page order in the PDF.
  • Fit to image suits mixed aspect ratios; A4/Letter normalize for print.
  • GIF/WebP/BMP become PNG pages; animated GIFs use the first frame via createImageBitmap.
  • High-resolution photos increase size — downscale first if the PDF will be emailed.

Image to PDF FAQ

Which image formats are supported?

PNG, JPEG, WebP, GIF, and BMP. Non-image files are ignored with a toast.

Are my images uploaded?

No. Conversion runs entirely in the browser with pdf-lib and canvas.

Can I control page size and margins?

Yes — Page Size (fit / A4 / Letter) and Margin 0–120pt before Create PDF.

How do I reorder pages?

Drag rows by the grip handle or use the up/down chevrons in Selected Images.

Why did a non-PNG/JPEG convert differently?

WebP/GIF/BMP are rasterized to PNG on canvas so pdf-lib can embed them reliably.
