Video converters are usually the worst offenders for privacy: a clip is large, so it goes to a server, sits in a queue, and often comes back watermarked or downscaled unless you pay. Audio is smaller but the pattern is the same.
These tools use FFmpeg compiled to WebAssembly and WebCodecs, running inside the page. Your media is read from disk, processed in the browser and written back out. A 200 MB video is no more expensive to your privacy than a 2 MB one, because it is never sent anywhere.
Because there is no server, there is no file-size cap to hit and no watermark to argue with. Processing is slower than a server-side transcode, which is the trade: you give up speed for keeping the file on your machine.

Video & Audio Tools FAQ
Will these tools upload my video?
No. FFmpeg and WebCodecs run in your browser, so the file is read, processed and written back without leaving your device. There is no size limit because there is no upload.
Are there watermark or time limits?
Neither. You can process a clip of any length, and the output is exactly what you asked for, with nothing added on top.
Which formats can I convert to?
The converters work through FFmpeg, which covers the common formats — MP4, WebM, MOV, MKV, AVI on the video side, and MP3, WAV, OGG, AAC, FLAC and M4A on the audio side.
Why is browser conversion slower than a desktop tool?
Compression is the expensive part, and a browser is doing it on a CPU or GPU it shares with everything else on the tab. Cutting without re-encoding is nearly instant because it copies the encoded frames rather than rebuilding them.
Can I extract audio from a video?
Yes. Video to Audio pulls the sound out and saves it as a standalone audio file, ready to trim or convert further.
