PDF to Images

Convert PDF pages to high-quality images (PNG, JPEG, WebP) with customizable DPI and quality.

PDF to Images renders selected pages as PNG, JPEG, or WebP at 72–600 DPI with a quality slider for lossy formats. Enter a page range like 1-3, 5, 7-10 (or leave All), pick format/DPI/quality, and convert. Results show dimensions per page with individual download, Download All, or a ZIP — all processed locally with PDF.js.

Use it for slide exports, thumbnail sheets, or print-ready 300 DPI images without opening design software. Nothing is uploaded; a footer reminds you after conversion.

How it works

PDF.js loads the file (100MB max in the UI) and reports page count. The range parser expands your expression into a page set. Each page’s viewport scale is dpi/72; render draws to canvas at that scale, then canvas.toBlob(format, quality) produces the image.

Filenames are {pdfBaseName}-page-{N}.{format}. Multi-page results can export as {pdfBaseName}-images.zip via JSZip. Progress increments per completed page; encrypted/corrupt files raise a destructive alert.

How to use

  1. Open PDF to Images and drop a PDF (“Drop a PDF file here” / click to browse).
  2. Confirm “N pages detected” and file size under the file card.
  3. Optionally edit Pages to Convert (e.g. 1-3, 5) or click All to reset to every page.
  4. Choose Format (PNG default), DPI (150 default; 300 for print), and Quality for JPEG/WebP.
  5. Click Convert N Page(s) and watch Converting… {progress}% with the progress bar.
  6. Review Results (N images) with width × height per card.
  7. Download All, Download ZIP, or grab individual pages; Clear revokes object URLs.
  8. Read the footer note: all processing happens in your browser.

Tips

  • 300 DPI for print, 72 for screen mockups — DPI only changes pixel dimensions.
  • Quality slider applies to JPEG/WebP, not PNG (lossless).
  • Use ranges to skip appendices; Download ZIP when converting dozens of pages (browsers may block many sequential downloads).
  • PNG preserves crisp text edges; JPEG at 85% is smaller for photos-heavy pages.

PDF to Images FAQ

Which formats can I export?

PNG (lossless), JPEG (lossy), and WebP. Format and DPI are independent controls.

What does DPI change?

Output pixel size: scale = DPI/72 on the PDF point viewport. Higher DPI = larger images.

Is quality used for PNG?

No — quality applies to JPEG and WebP only. PNG is always lossless.

Can I convert only some pages?

Yes — enter ranges like 1-3, 5 in Pages to Convert, or click All.

Are files uploaded?

No. Rendering and ZIP packaging run entirely in your browser.
